Job Description General Motors is building one of the most ambitious AI programs in manufacturing — systems capable of autonomously manipulating thousands of parts across GM’s global plant network. This effort combines robotics, machine learning, large-scale data infrastructure, simulation environments, and real-world factory deployments. Our team is developing multiple AI capabilities in parallel, including perception-based manipulation, grasp pose estimation, hierarchical planning, and vision-language-action models. We are seeking a Technical Product Manager to drive execution across this program. In this role, you will operate at the center of the initiative, coordinating work across AI research, robotics engineering, data infrastructure, simulation platforms, and manufacturing deployment teams. You will help translate complex technical work into structured execution plans and support the delivery of production-ready AI robotics systems at manufacturing scale. What You’ll Do Drive Program Execution Lead program execution across AI research, robotics development, simulation, and factory deployment workstreams Track milestones, manage dependencies, and resolve cross-team blockers Run program reviews and coordination loops across AI Research, Robotics Engineering, Data Engineering, and Manufacturing teams Lead Data Program Execution Drive data strategy across multiple sources including factory robotic systems, simulation-generated data, teleoperation data collection, and internal datasets Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure data pipelines support model training, evaluation, and deployment Communicate Program Progress Prepare structured updates on program progress, risks, and key decisions for leadership Translate complex technical developments into clear executive-level insights Support strategic documents related to partnerships and major program investments Align Cross-Functional Teams Coordinate execution across AI research, robotics engineering, infrastructure platforms, and manufacturing operations Manage dependencies between simulation environments, lab systems, data infrastructure, and model development Support technical discussions with external robotics and AI partners when needed What You Bring Required Qualifications 7 years of experience in technical program management or product management 3 years supporting AI, machine learning, or robotics programs Experience managing complex technical programs across multiple teams and workstreams Technical depth to collaborate effectively with AI researchers, robotics engineers, and data engineers Experience with machine learning pipelines and data infrastructure, including data ingestion, labeling, evaluation, and deployment workflows Ability to translate complex technical progress into clear executive communications Experience supporting data programs including data collection strategies, annotation workflows, and pipeline development Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced technical environments with evolving priorities Preferred Qualifications Background in robotics, computer vision, or physical AI systems Familiarity with robotics concepts such as 6DoF pose estimation, grasp planning, sim-to-real transfer, and behavior cloning Experience evaluating or deploying foundation models Familiarity with robotics tools such as Isaac Sim, ROS/ROS2, Foxglove, or MCAP Experience working with AI systems in manufacturing or industrial environments Experience managing large-scale data annotation programs or evaluation frameworks Experience working with external robotics or AI technology partners This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week {or other frequency dictated by their manager}. The selected candidate will be required to travel <25% for this role. This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.
