Operations Manager (WORKING MANAGER)
General Trucking is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our brokerage team while remaining hands-on in daily operations.
This is a working manager role—you will actively handle freight while overseeing broker performance and supporting critical operations, including shuttle coverage in Toledo.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee and manage a team of freight brokers
- Actively book and manage freight (hands-on brokerage responsibilities)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with shippers and carriers
- Monitor team performance, provide coaching, and drive results
- Ensure daily brokerage operations run efficiently and profitably
- Serve as the primary backup supervisor for our Toledo shuttle operations
- Support communication between brokerage, dispatch, and operations
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in freight brokerage, transportation, or logistics
- Previous leadership or team lead experience preferred
- Strong operational mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Confident decision-maker with problem-solving ability
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to step in and support both brokerage and field operations
