What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Material Handler position at General Technologies, Inc.?
Our Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for loading/unloading trucks and stocking product all while maintaining safety measures in the warehouse. Keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Checks outbound shipments for accuracy and readiness for customer delivery.
Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):
- Answer the S&R door for carrier order inquiries
- Able to update the driver check-in log as drivers come in
- Must locate paperwork and physical product
- Able to match the order packing list with the amount of physical pallets ready to ship
- Must be able to confidently use the sit-down forklift in order to load trucks
- Must do periodic walkthroughs to ensure the warehouse is clean, organized and a safe environment.
- Must be able to operate the scanner and make or verify transactions.
- Keeps his/her direct manager updated and aware of order progress and alerts them when a problem arises.
- Promotes quality by demonstrating personal accuracy and thoroughness, while working at a fast pace
- Follows warehouse rules and procedures when it comes to organization and cleanliness
- Shows outstanding awareness of safety procedures and works in a clean and organized way
- Able to safely pull, load and unload palletized orders and incoming inventory
- Takes immediate action to correct or report unsafe actions behaviors or procedures
- Able to safely pull, load and unload palletized orders and incoming inventory without damage to the parts, company equipment or third-party equipment.
- Shipping & Receiving guidelines to ensure shipments are sent 100% accurately and on time
- Knowledgeable of the parts, part numbers, systems and its features and functions
- Able to use standard equipment as well as ancillary equipment to assist in order completion
- Must have the knowledge to distribute heavy truck loads correctly making sure that shipments comply with Department of Transportation Weight Limit Rules
- Has full knowledge of the warehouse location system, part series designated areas and procedures to properly locate, subtract, and move parts from warehouse locations
- Able to perform cycle counts to validate inventory quantities
- Must keep all inventory organized and located in order to facilitate cycle counts, inventory counts and to enforce "First in First Out" (FIFO) rules
- Must be able to process incoming and release to production paperwork
- Inspects receiving procedures and pertinent paperwork for all shipments received
- Reports to Warehouse Manager
- Able to use & learn the crown lift
- Responsible for moving the incoming from production and storing pallets up in the racks
- Drop down product needed for orders & for production
- Identify, manage & consolidate partial anchor boxes
- Able to load/unload international containers & manage documentation.
Requirements:
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must be able to accurately count and solve simple arithmetic problems
- Must be able to work well with others as a team
- Must have basic to intermediate to advance computer skills
- Must work in an organized and safe manner
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced goal-oriented environment
- Must be detail oriented, organized and sharp with paperwork and other administrative tasks
- Must be able to understand and follow warehouse procedures
- Must have initiative and flexibility to work in different areas of the warehouse performing a variety of tasks, including tasks outside of the shipping and receiving core responsibilities
- Must be able to perform cycle counts
- Must show the skills to operate the forklift in a safe and proficient way
- Perform general housekeeping
- Physical stamina and strength
- Must be flexible; able to work extended hours and weekends when required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday, (May have to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed)
- 1st Shift- 7:00am to 3:30pm
- 2nd Shift- 3:00pm to 11:30pm
