What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laser Operator - 2nd shift position at General Stamping & Metalworks?
The Laser Operator safely operates CNC laser equipment to produce precision metal parts per customer specifications, meeting all safety, quality, and productivity standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC laser machines to produce parts per specifications.
- Load and unload materials using forklifts, cranes, or by hand.
- Inspect finished parts for accuracy using standard tools.
- Maintain machine performance by cleaning optics, nozzles, and filters.
- Record production data and communicate issues to maintenance.
- Follow all safety and PPE protocols.
- Participate in team-based problem solving and process improvement.
- 6 months of manufacturing or laser operation experience preferred.
- Basic computer and ERP system knowledge.
- Ability to read blueprints and follow work instructions.
Competencies

- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks and lift up to 45 lbs.
