Business Operations Manager

Location: Euclid, OH (Cleveland area) - On-site

Company: General Sleep Corporation

About Us

We are a medical device company based in Euclid, OH. We design, manufacture, and sell FDA-cleared Class II home sleep testing devices, serving hospitals, sleep labs, and patients directly. Our ship-to-patient service sends sleep test kits directly to patients, who use them at home and return them for data upload and turn-around. We're looking for a Business Operations Manager to own the day-to-day operations that keep our business running.

About the Role

As we continue to grow, this role reports directly to the CEO and serves as the operational backbone of the company, owning the systems and processes that keep product moving and customers supported. You'll personally be working in our inventory system, bookkeeping and accounting software, invoicing and billing tools, complaints and RMA tracking system, and customer support ticketing system. You'll manage vendor relationships and purchasing, oversee our warehouse and logistics team, handle support escalations, and ensure uninterrupted product fulfillment. You'll work closely with our Quality & Regulatory Affairs Manager to ensure that all operations follow our quality management system procedures, and with our engineering team on systems and tooling improvements.

This is a hands-on role. Some days you'll be creating purchase orders and reconciling invoices, other days you'll be approving a complaint record, negotiating with a supplier, or training a team member on a new procedure. If you like variety and ownership, you'll enjoy this. If you prefer managing from behind a desk or overseeing large teams, it's probably not the right fit.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Serving as the day-to-day operational lead, working directly in our business systems (inventory/ERP, accounting software, invoicing, support ticketing, complaints/RMA tracking) rather than just overseeing them.
  • Managing our warehouse and logistics team, which handles kit assembly, device testing, labeling, shipping, receiving, cleaning, and repairs.
  • Managing our ship-to-patient sleep kit service, including handling special cases and exceptions that the warehouse team escalates.
  • Serving as the escalation point for customer support when first-tier support needs help (our engineering team handles deep technical issues, so you don't need to be an engineer).
  • Managing relationships with contract manufacturers and component suppliers, including purchasing, lead times, quality expectations, and cost negotiations.
  • Ensuring we maintain strong inventory levels to support uninterrupted fulfillment.
  • Managing billing, invoicing, and bookkeeping tasks to keep our financial operations running smoothly.
  • Making sure all operational processes follow documented QMS procedures, and that staff are trained and compliant. Reviewing and approving complaint records and other regulated documentation.
  • Contributing to the evaluation and implementation of operational software systems, working with engineering to improve our tooling.
  • Coordinating with the Quality & Regulatory Affairs Manager on process documentation, training records, and audit readiness.
  • Identifying operational inefficiencies and improving them.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working at a company where you've had to wear multiple hats is the most important thing. We need someone who has personally done the work, not just managed people who do it.
  • 3–7 years of experience in operations, general management, business administration, or a similar role.
  • Experience in a regulated industry is preferred (medical device, pharma, aerospace, defense, food manufacturing, or similar). You don't need to be a regulatory expert, but you should be comfortable working in an environment where processes need to be documented and followed consistently.
  • Experience managing supplier or vendor relationships, including purchasing and negotiating.
  • Comfort working in tools like accounting software, ERP/inventory systems, and ticketing or CRM platforms. You don't need to be an expert in any one system, but you should be someone who picks up new software quickly and has opinions about what makes these systems work well.
  • Comfort managing a small team and holding people accountable to procedures and standards.
  • Strong organizational skills — you'll be juggling a lot of moving parts across many different areas of the business.
  • You don't need a Six Sigma belt, a PMP, or experience running a large production floor. We need a generalist, not a specialist.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required if you have strong relevant experience.

What You Should Know About Working Here

This role touches almost everything outside of engineering and sales. That means real influence over how we operate, and you'll see the results of your work directly. You'll report directly to the CEO and work alongside our warehouse and quality/regulatory teams.

You'll have the opportunity to help shape our operational tooling, including involvement in selecting and implementing new software systems.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $85,000 – $110,000, depending on experience.
  • Health insurance with employer contribution.
  • Dental, vision, life, and legal benefits.
  • PTO and paid holidays.
  • Professional development support (certifications, conferences, memberships).
