The Inside Sales Manager is accountable to develop and execute strategic plans that attain corporate customer satisfaction, growth and profitability goals.

General Stamping & Metalworks is a growing organization responding to a changing market.  It is expected that tasks and requirements will change from time to time and employees will be flexible to respond as needed.

Organizational Relationships and Authority

The Inside Sales Manager reports directly to the President and collaborates with the all team members to achieve goals. Direct reports are likely to include:

 

Client Development Specialists

·       Key Responsibilities and Purpose

The primary responsibility of the Inside Sales Manager is to drive growth through effective customer relationship management, process management and the leadership of the team.

 

Additional activities include:

  • Develops lean systems and metrics to ensure commitments to our customers are met
  • Prioritizes  to ensure strategic customers receive quotes as quickly as possible and before the due date
  • Understands plant capacity to ensure quote submissions target underutilized assets
  • Accompanies managers to customer/prospect sites to understand needs
  • Promotes capabilities and explores opportunities to increase GSM offerings and customer reach
  • Creates processes that ensure estimates are ready and to hand off to manufacturing
  • Provides an organizational structure that reflects current and long term needs

·         Provides design and engineering expertise to GSM team members and customers

·         Develops systems that maintain relevant processes and customer information in accordance with ISO standards

  • Develops best practices for opportunity tracking that includes selling metrics (Win/loss, Growth Opportunities etc.)
  • Understands markets that drive product costs and ensures estimates are up to date.
  • Collaborates with Strategic Account Managers and CFO to develop pricing strategies
  • Develops clear and objective criteria for developing, improving, and promoting employees based on performance measures that are behaviorally anchored

·         Accurately prepares, maintains or authorizes department expenses for payment

  • Engages with teams  to win business and  improve process
  • Collaborates with customers on cost saving initiatives

Therefore, this position requires this employee to interact professionally at all times.

All management personnel are expected to update job knowledge on an ongoing basis by identifying and participating in functionally related educational opportunities, reading professional publications, reporting key learnings to the GSM Team, maintaining networks to the benefit of the company, and participating in professional organizations where indicated or requested.

Qualifications and Competencies

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess a strong ability to be attentive to detail, results driven, and the ability to keep accurate records.  They must possess excellent interpersonal skills as well as the ability to produce written documents that are free of spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors.

 

As a leader in the company, the Inside Sales Manager must maintain an optimistic attitude in helping the customer reach important goals without sacrificing GSM’s profitability. In addition, they must maintain the strictest confidence regarding all issues and information regarding the company’s owner, its operations and employees, financial matters, and personal matters of which the employee may become aware in the course of their work.

 

Due to the intense communication component of this position, the individual will also develop and maintain competency with the following programs and equipment:

  • Laptop, tablet and/or desktop computer

  • ERP and estimating systems

  • Accuracy: Provides accurate, relevant and timely financial reports free of errors and ambiguities; routinely provides proper documentation of assumptions used to formulate forecasts and planning materials

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree   (preferred)

Experience

  • Minimum of three years as an Inside Sales or Engineering Manager with responsibility for cultivating customer relationships

  • Able to type at a keyboard without discomfort most of the working day
  • Ability to ambulate around the office environment and manufacturing floor comfortably in order to fulfill tasks required in various offices and departments
  • Ability to travel beyond the office environment by private jet, commercial air, automobile without undue stress or discomfort

Salary/Wages and Benefits

Conditions of Hire

All employment with GSM, Inc. is at-will by the employer and employee and therefore subject to change.

 

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
