General Shale Brick, a leading brand of General Shale, Inc., is seeking a Utility Person to join our manufacturing facility in Stanton, Kentucky. This hands-on role is ideal for a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is committed to safety and teamwork.
Position Overview:
The Utility Person is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe plant environment while supporting production and maintenance teams. This role includes performing housekeeping tasks, assisting with equipment upkeep, and supporting daily plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout all plant departments, including Grinding and general production areas

Remove scrap from belts, empty bins, and clean dust collectors in the Making Department

Assist kiln car operators with repair and rebuild tasks as needed

Support snow and ice removal at plant entrances and exits

Actively assist other crew members and work collaboratively with operators

Report maintenance needs to Production Supervisor or Lead Hand

Perform preventative maintenance on mobile equipment, including cleaning and washing

Follow all safety protocols and work efficiently according to company policies

Contribute to achieving the company goal of Zero Harm Today
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Prior brick manufacturing or industrial experience preferred

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a manufacturing environment
