Senior Business Analyst - Medicaid MMIS
We're seeking two experienced Senior Business Analysts for a long-term contract engagement supporting a state Medicaid agency modernization initiative. This is a 100% onsite role in Montgomery, Alabama. Our client is a state government agency undergoing a major multi-year transition from a legacy Medicaid system to a modern modular platform involving multiple vendors. You'll serve as the primary oversight resource: monitoring vendor deliverables, reviewing and approving artifacts, verifying contract compliance, and supporting CMS certification activities. This is a leadership role, not a support role.
What you'll do:
- Monitor vendor performance against SLAs (~50% of time);
- Review and approve program/project/software artifacts across multiple vendors;
- Verify contract requirements across development, configuration, and operations;
- Work directly with business areas on vendor-proposed solutions
- Support CMS reporting and certification activities
- Identify and report variances, risks, and issues; facilitate meetings and maintain project assets; interface with executives, vendors, and SMEs.
Required:
- 5 years true MMIS experience (no exceptions); deep understanding of Medicaid subsystems, including Claims, Prior Authorization, Pharmacy, Managed Care, Provider Enrollment, Eligibility, HIPAA transactions
- 10 years as a Senior BA
- 3 years business process modeling; multi-vendor state government experience;
- Strong Excel/Visio/Word/Teams; understanding of system integrations (interfaces, APIs, batch)
- Bachelor's or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
- 2 years at large multi-contractor orgs leading centralized/matrixed teams
- CMS certification process experience
- Advanced MS Project/SharePoint; technical writing.

- Pay: $60 to $75/hr.
