Key Order Selector Team Lead Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Assign daily work, coordinate warehouse activities, and provide direction and support to the Order Selector team.
- Safety & Compliance: Lead by example in the safe operation of warehouse equipment and ensure compliance with all procedures.
- Training & Development: Coach, train, and support team members on work procedures, productivity expectations, and company standards.
- Operational Excellence: Monitor workflow and production goals to ensure customer orders are selected, loaded, and shipped on schedule.
- Warehouse Systems Expertise: Serve as the team's primary resource for Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and support the proper use of all WMS equipment and devices.
- Equipment & Facility Oversight: Ensure warehouse equipment, work areas, and facilities are maintained and utilized properly.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, equipment utilization, and overall warehouse performance.
- Communication: Maintain strong working relationships with employees and departments, communicate operational updates, and participate in regular meetings with warehouse leadership.
- Professional Leadership: Demonstrate respectful behavior, accountability, and professionalism while fostering a positive team environment.
Order Selector Team Lead Qualifications
- Education (Required): High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience (Required): One year of experience in the produce industry or related warehouse environment with demonstrated knowledge of warehouse operations.
- Leadership Potential: Receptive to coaching and demonstrates the aptitude to develop coaching and leadership skills.
- Team Leadership: Ability to motivate employees and foster a positive, productive team environment.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees, customers, and management.
- Operational Knowledge: Working knowledge of warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment processes.
- Time Management: Ability to manage conflicting priorities, multitask effectively, and meet deadlines while helping the team achieve goals.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer proficiency for shipping, receiving, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and internal communication.
- Licenses & Certifications: Must maintain a General Produce Forklift Operator Certification.
- Work Ethic & Professionalism: Demonstrates a positive attitude, accountability, and commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
