Job Title: Summer Help (Multiple Departments)

Reports to: Department Manager

Job Summary:

The Summer Help employee will provide support and assistance to designated departments within the school district during the summer months. This temporary position helps the district address increased workloads during summer break, allowing staff to focus on essential tasks while providing valuable work experience to individuals, potentially students, looking for summer employment. Responsibilities may vary depending on the assigned department and specific projects. 

Qualifications:

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of safety procedures.
• For positions working with children: Ability to communicate effectively and work well with students.
• Specific qualifications may vary based on the assigned department.
• Minimum age requirement: 15 years of age 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Custodial/Maintenance:

• Assist with the preparation and cleaning of school buildings and facilities for the upcoming school year.
• Move and arrange classroom and office furniture.
• Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks, such as painting or assisting skilled trades workers.
• Assist with grounds maintenance, including mowing and landscaping.
• Technology:
• Provide support to staff and students with technology-related issues.
• Assist in setting up and preparing computer labs.
• Perform equipment transfers and inventory tasks.
• Summer Programs/Camps:
• Assist with supervision of students during summer programs and activities.
• Help with planning and implementing recreational and enrichment activities.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of program participants.
• General Support:
• Perform general clerical duties, such as filing and copying.
• Assist with various projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
• Follow established safety procedures in all work activities. 

Working Conditions:

• May involve working indoors and outdoors.
• May be exposed to varying temperatures, dust, and noise.
• Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
• May involve lifting and carrying objects (e.g., up to 45 pounds for custodial positions).
