Job Summary
Our Partner General Paper Company is looking for a Warehouse & Distribution Manager. In this role, you will lead a hands‑on warehouse team that keeps janitorial and paper products flowing accurately and on time to their customers. You will drive process improvements, cost control, and productivity gains in a high‑volume distribution environment. This is a full‑time position with a comprehensive benefits package.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee warehouse operations for janitorial and paper products, ensuring accurate receiving, put‑away, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Own inventory control for all SKUs, including cycle counting, bin accuracy, and coordination with purchasing on stock levels, discrepancies, and inventory turns.
- Identify and resolve shipment and inventory discrepancies (shortages, damages, mis‑picks) and drive root‑cause corrections.
- Manage daily logistics for truck routes and customer deliveries, meeting service commitments for local and regional customers.
- Ensure delivery vehicles and material‑handling equipment are properly inspected and maintained; coordinate repairs and rentals with vendors as needed.
- Oversee preparation of bills of lading and shipping documentation and work with LTL carriers to secure cost‑effective, on‑time outbound freight.
- Champion a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment that reflects the janitorial products we sell, maintaining compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Create, track, and act on KPIs to manage warehouse performance, including inventory accuracy, order fill rate, picking accuracy, overtime, and safety metrics.
- Lead, coach, and evaluate warehouse staff, including hiring input, performance reviews, coaching conversations, and formal disciplinary documentation when needed.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations leadership to support customer needs, resolve issues, and implement process improvements.
- Stay current on best practices in warehouse management, safety, and distribution technology and bring forward recommendations for improvement.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures and perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 3–5 years in a warehouse leadership role (Manager, Supervisor, or Lead) in a distribution environment; experience in janitorial, sanitary, paper, or other consumable B2B products strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or high school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or training in business, logistics, or supply chain is a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel (filters, sorting, basic formulas) and Word for reporting, scheduling, and KPI tracking.
- Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP inventory module, and ability to learn our specific system quickly.
- Proven ability to lead and develop warehouse team and work effectively with drivers, sales staff, and office personnel.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with a track record of using data and KPIs to improve processes and control costs.
- Ability to operate or obtain certification on forklifts and other material‑handling equipment as needed.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record; ability to pass background check and drug screening.
- Ability to perform general warehouse activities and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
