Roles
- Liaison to the Plant Supply Chain Launch Manager and the Plant General Assembly Launch Lead
- Provide Operational Focus to the Launch Team
- Select, Supervise, and Coordinate the activities of the represented Supply Chain Launch Core and Launch Support teams.
Develop
- Develops and maintains material DLOC, footprint and flow for in-plant functional evaluation builds and manufacturing validation, through acceleration.
- Responsible for developing Master Dot Plan For Every Part & action item list including completeness of SCPP database
- Line side presentation and delivery
- Storage location, equipment analysis and manpower
- Banking and service requirements
- CMA, Pre-kitting, Small Lot quantities
- Internal/External Material Flow Plan
- Develop and maintain material launch readiness wall
- Conduct Plan for Every Part (PFEP) Validation Checkpoint at the assembly plant at the appropriate timing.
- Individual must be capable of working with little direction, working well with all personnel on shop floor, and problem resolution
- This is an hourly people leader position, responsible for supervising core team members
- Success in this role will have this individual working closely with plant leadership, Global Manufacturing Engineering, Program Engineering, and core team members
Coordination
- Lead and facilitate the daily launch conference calls to execute quick resolution of all issue involving, supplier quality or capacity issues, container issues, transportation issues, GM schedule to supplier issues.
- Note: RSCIM will provide support for initial call set-up (incl. identify core members) and on-going support
- Present Supply Chain PQRR Status - present material flow status at PQRRs.
- Participate Material Launch Readiness Team (MRLT) with cross-functional members to provide information, direction and establish priorities during each phase of the program cycle.
- Coordinate supply chain execution plan for intercontinental suppliers (including, container, logistics, 3rd party storage, and scheduling systems capability).
- Note: Functions still retain ownership & accountability for their respective Plan
- Coordinate Supply Chain input into the Supplier Conference
- Note: SQ Launch Mgr / PPM own overall Supplier Conference Coordination
- Complete hand-off of operation responsibilities to the Plant Material Organization.
- Define Plant indirect material flow process (i.e., General Store's requirements, SPO, etc.).
- Assist in coordinating the no hit/multi hit paper build process at assembly plant.
- Provide Material input into Production Launch Team Workshop (B22, E10)
- B22: Develop Supply Chain Part Plan
- E10: Validate Material Flow and Shipping Plan
- Confirm integration of part presentation strategies and LMS container designs developed in IV with planned Material processes.
- Note: Timing for this workshop will be determined upon formation of the Production Launch Team
- Provide feedback to CR/DN's as needed from CSO to EOA
- Support off shift build events as required
Strategic Support
- Identify and validate critical production containers during IV.
- Validate and support sequencing, subassembly, and VAA strategies/planning including:
- SOR development
- 3rd party supplier readiness & issue resolution
- Support the readiness process to ensure material availability for PPV, MVB and SORP
- Ensure aggressive plan is developed and loaded in MGO (20 weeks prior to SORP)
- Ensure vehicle shipping plan is in place-Logistics ownership
- Work with FMA and Program Team to establish MVB build event timing
- Ensures NA Logistics have developed transportation plans to support the program-Logistics ownership
- Ensures the Containerization Plan is developed and executed for all commodities including an adequate return route
- Support Supplier Quality efforts for high risk suppliers
- Work with FMA to ensure material part availability:
- Track and report the parts status for the various builds during the program cycle (SV, FE, IV, Manufacturing Validation MRD's and Acceleration)
- Develop plan for containment of Pre-Production materials and obsolete parts
- Ensure latest parts are available for Manufacturing Validation Builds
- Work with Global Containers on specialized, powertrain, standard and intercontinental container designs and designation while ensuring appropriate buy off signatures.
- Assist IE in establishing delivery routes and process for bulk and small lot containers within the Plant (i.e., dolly exchange, lightweight and tuggable, etc.) to include SMLBS studies.
- Support development of the material plan for concurrent builds (if applicable).
- Work with 3rd Party Manager and sequencing suppliers on Plant processes and systems requirements.
- Support Containerization Validation Process
- Support EWO/TWO process and CAB.
- Support complexity reduction initiatives from CSO to EOA
Qualifications
Required
- Business/Engineering Degree or equivalent experience related to product launch
- Production floor leadership experience (Body/GA experience preferred)
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
- High level of computer, written, and oral communication skills
- High level of analytical ability where problems are unusually difficult
Participation
- Attend daily/weekly meetings and reviews to support, as required, including: MITs, PET, PQRRs, Layout meetings, PDT, Daily Wrap-up, etc. from CSO to EOA
