**Job Description**
As part of the larger Performance Driven Marketing (PDM) team, the Head of Data Management, is a cornerstone role in enabling the development and roll-out of world-class modern marketing capabilities at General Motors. The role will champion the reimagining of GM's marketing data ecosystem which is the underpinning of the modern marketing vision at GM. This role will help create modern marketing experiences for customer through re-imagining the existing ecosystem, consolidating the data footprint across services and experiences and work closely with the technology teams to enable and deploy that vision. The role requires to influence and manage a broad set of stakeholders outside of PDM's planning & insights, measurement sciences, martech solutions, marketing operations, and consent & privacy groups.
In this role, you'll be responsible for leading the Data Management capability that will operationalize GM's modern marketing vision through personalized experiences. You will need to apply the fundamental principles of data framework to innovate and re-imagine the landscape. You will be responsible for the architectural strategy, stewardship and governance of the data ecosystem along with implementing data quality practices for use.
This role requires self-starter, with deep expertise in dealing with large complex datasets. We are looking for a creative problem solver and collaborator who can establish vision and sell-in across a diverse and matrixed group of stakeholders. A proven track record designing and building ecosystems like identity-based data management platforms, data governance and creating and maintaining critical data assets. Knowledge and expertise of Marketing is preferable (email, CMS, AdTech, websites, etc.)
Lead a team of data managers, stewards and architects across multiple geographic locations and commit to their development and growth
Responsible for the roadmap used to define and build enterprise-wide modern marketing technology architecture.
Understand industry direction and best practices. Create a unified view of architecture that encompasses technology, data, and people.
Collaborate with several functions within GM like Information technology team and the Data and Analytics office to drive marketing data strategy
Ensure strong data stewardship across the marketing data assets, including governance, quality and standardization of dataChampion the data strategy for all of Marketing to align and accelerate the Martech strategy
Designs and develops strategies, processes, policies or original solutions to highly complex issues; often involving multiple functions
Work in deep partnership with PDM peers to craft a comprehensive PDM toolkit and flawless product operating model resulting in a well-oiled machine for the enterprise
Responsible for translating business and marketing expectations into data strategies, capabilities, and business justification and execute to that vision and strategy
**Additional Job Description**
10 years of relevant professional experience with a background in data, marketing technology, marketing analytics, AI / ML (Microsoft, Adobe, etc.)
Significant previous experience in matrixed organizations, with an understanding of embedded / central structures
Experience leading large teams in a matrixed structure with budgetary responsibility
Expert knowledge in 1st party data collection and management, including data taxonomy design
Expert in MarTech tools and solutions, including large complex data platforms
Familiarity with Data Management, Data Governance and Data Quality practices
Experience with Metadata management
Hands-on experience with customer-level event and attribute data for audience segmentation, targeting, and measurement
Previous experience working with CRM data
Strong influencing skills and an ability to navigate through complex decision-making processes with multiple stakeholders
Excellent ability to break down and communicate complex ideas into actions and present to senior level leaders
High level of ownership, quantitative savvy, and entrepreneurship
Advanced degree preferred

The expected base compensation for this role is: ($162,175 - $248,394). Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
