Duties
- Lead and supervise store operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning across all departments
- Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members to build a high-performing staff
- Provide comprehensive employee orientation and ongoing training & development to enhance team skills
- Manage inventory control, purchasing, stocking, and merchandising to optimize product availability and presentation
- Oversee sales management, pricing strategies, and retail math to meet sales targets and maximize profitability
- Handle customer service issues with professionalism, ensuring positive shopping experiences
- Execute shift management duties including cash handling, cashier supervision, POS system operation, and store opening/closing procedures
- Develop marketing initiatives and promotional activities to increase store traffic and sales
- Maintain organizational standards through effective bookkeeping, payroll processing, budgeting, and administrative tasks
Experience
- Proven management experience within retail environments or grocery stores with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong background in retail sales management, team leadership, and customer service excellence
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing, and training & development
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable for effective communication with diverse customer bases and staff
- Experience with inventory management systems, POS technology, cash handling procedures, and retail math principles
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques, pricing strategies, marketing initiatives, and stock replenishment processes
- Prior assistant manager or supervisory experience in a fast-paced retail setting is preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple tasks such as budgeting, payroll, bookkeeping, and store operations
