Application Technician
Position Summary
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Application Technician to join our team. This role serves as a bridge between customers and engineering, helping transform customer needs into real, testable solutions. The ideal candidate is curious, hands-on, and thrives in an environment where no two days look the same.
As an Application Technician, you'll be involved in testing, software evaluation, demonstrations, and direct customer interaction. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, learning new technologies, and playing a key role in helping customers understand and experience our inspection systems.
Key Responsibilities Testing & Reporting
- Perform test evaluations using customer-provided samples.
- Generate clear, organized reports including:
- Pass/fail results for required characteristics
- Repeatability data for dimensional features
- Screenshots and notes for visual defect detection
- Internal testing notes and documentation
- Keep all sample parts properly labeled, stored, and organized.
Demonstrations & Customer Support
- Utilize the demo room, sensors, demo machines, and customer systems for evaluations.
- Keep the demo environment clean and organized.
- Set up and prepare machines for online and in-person demonstrations, using customer parts when possible.
- Support the demonstration by answering questions and helping customers understand machine capability.
Software Testing
- Assist in testing new software versions and new software tools.
- Identify and report software bugs or issues discovered in testing.
- Collaborate with engineering to help improve functionality and user experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Willingness to learn General Inspection's proprietary software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Innovative mindset with the ability to think through challenges.
- Comfortable asking questions and seeking guidance when needed.
- Ability to work on-site at our Davisburg, MI facility.
