We are seeking a Telephone Medical Appointment Clerk at Lincoln Center in San Antonio, TX. The position operates Monday through Friday between 6:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m., with a 9-hour shift that includes a 1-hour unpaid lunch, not to exceed 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
- Answer inbound calls and assist patients with scheduling, canceling, and rescheduling appointments
- Make outbound calls to coordinate specialty referrals and primary care appointments
- Verify patient eligibility and update demographic information in appropriate systems
- Utilize electronic health record systems (e.g., MHS GENESIS) to manage appointments and consults
- Process and track medical consults in accordance with established guidelines
- Manage appointment cancellation requests and voicemail inquiries
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures
- Deliver excellent customer service while adhering to medical and administrative protocols
- High school diploma or GED (or higher)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong data entry and computer skills
- Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and coordinate across multiple departments
- Strong customer service skills and professional phone etiquette
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- US citizenship required
- Experience in a healthcare or call center environment
- Familiarity with military health systems or electronic health records
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- $19.61 an hour
