General Human Outreach in the Community, Inc., a non-profit agency provider of OPWDD residential and day programs and services in New York City is seeking the next Executive Director to lead GHO, offering NYS OPWDD certified residential, day programs and other services in Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan
Founded in 1992, GHO seeks to continue delivering quality services in fulfillment of its mission. GHO is financially healthy and enjoys a tenured employee population. GHO’s main office is located in central Queens (Kew Gardens) across from Queens Borough Hall.
At GHO, we enrich the lives of people with developmental disabilities by enhancing their skills, increasing their independence and promoting their integration into the community. We’re a trusted resource that serves more than 500 people each year, providing culturally tailored services to people in New York City.
Requirements:
The preferred candidate will have an advanced degree and at least 10 years’ experience in nonprofit human services management.

- Guide daily agency operations in support of the agency mission
- Provide team leadership to agency management and staff
- Ensure agency compliance with NY State OPWDD regulations
- Oversee financial planning and reporting
- Prepare and present operations reports to the Board and for publication
- Develop effective quality assurance monitoring strategies
- Develop internal Policies and Procedures to ensure compliance and quality
- Represent GHO in community, provider, public and interagency affairs
- Advocate for needed services for the community
- Grow with the agency towards increased quality, stability and mission expansion
