What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finish Carpenter position at General Housing Corporation?
Finish Carpenter will provide support and expertise to the final, detailed stages of carpentry, with an emphasis on cabinet, interior door and trim installation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Install kitchen and bath cabinets, tops, shelving and interior doors
- Install fixtures and hardware such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures
- Suggest necessary adjustments and clarifications to procedures, when necessary
- Ensure proper use of material and tools, and promote safe working environment in all areas
- Ensure structures are being built up to GHC quality standards, construction requirements, adhere to the fastening schedule, and manufacturers installation instructions
- Adhere to and promote company policies, procedures, and decisions
- Work with the Team Leaders on problem resolutions
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance in accordance with company attendance policies
Qualifications:
- Must be able to read and understand a blueprint (engineering prints)
- Must have basic math skills and a working knowledge of common math used in the construction trade
- General construction knowledge
- Must be able to communicate with employees, Team Leaders and senior management both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to multi-task
- Strong grasp of the tasks performed in the designated Finish End areas, specifically interior and exterior door installation and Base/Casing installation
- Have an overall good job performance including productivity, attitude, attendance, and adherence to company policy and procedures.
- 5 years experience in cabinet and interior door/trim installation preferred
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
