What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Clerk/Hilo-Truck Loading - 3pm - 11pm position at General Formulations?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
- Oversee outgoing shipping activities to ensure accurate and complete conditions of shipments
- Operates a forklift to transport material
- Follows defined shipping procedures
- Determines priorities and shipping methods required to meet schedules
- Manages estimating freight costs, and arranging transportation to optimize service and cost
- Ensures all transactions are recorded in Epicor
- Utilize UPS / Fed-ex shipping software
- Ensure that the job ticket matches the product and that items are properly packed and labeled
- Verify accuracy of orders by matching them with quantities and types
- Report any discrepancies
- Understand customer expectations and verify the order Ship To information is accurate
- Organize packaging observing safety standards
- Ensure that the warehouse is cleaned and always maintained
- Take part in year-end and general inventory procedures
- Investigating and solving customer problems and issues
Safety Requirements:
- Must wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Safety glasses must be worn while in production areas. Wear appropriate apparel. No hoodies, open toe shoes or headphones/earbuds.
- When driving the forklift, proper forklift safety rules must be used at all times.
- Must wear work appropriate apparel. No hoodies, open toe shoes or head/earphones.
- Must use proper lifting techniques.
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds
- Must Use proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) rules for mechanical issues.
- When using chemicals, must replace them in the original container and be labeled to identify the contents inside.
- Must make sure there is at least one person who knows where you are always in case of fire or natural disaster as part of the buddy system.
General Requirements:
- 3 years of related experience
- Proficient at improving process ability to resolve conflict
- Strong commitment to accountability
- Personality traits = results oriented, demonstrate a sense of urgency, good communication skills, and ability to work as a team
- Reliable and punctual, work overtime when needed.
- Must be able to work in hot and cold climates and in an environment with various noises.
