We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Inventory department. This position specifically is located in Norfolk, Virginia. We are looking for aTool Room Associate. The work schedule is 0600-1445 & 1445-2315 Monday- Sunday .

GUIDELINES FOR TOOL ROOM ASSOCIATE
JOURNEYPERSON 4 (Inventory Associate)
- Meet all Journeyman Inventory Associate 3 requirements
- Must ensure that you and personnel working under your direction are working as safely and as productively as possible, maintaining quality control at all times
- Must be able to plan, organize and prioritize well and handle problems and concerns without assistance
- Train junior personnel
STOREROOM
- Must be able to oversee a small group of people
- Prepare and plan for physical inventory counts
- Research inventory quantity or unit of measure discrepancies and provide solutions to supervisors
- Be proficient in the use of Tool Tracker, including but not limited to, adding, editing and researching tools
- Maintain proper inventory levels of tool repair parts
- Be knowledgeable of the various types of bottled gases that are carried
- Be able to properly and safely issue bottled gases
- Be able to properly and safely fill propane bottles
- Be familiar with the safe storage, handling and shipping of bottled gases
- Be able to maintain an accurate inventory of bottled gases
- Meet all Journeyman Inventory Associate 2 requirement and
STOREROOM
- Requisition new or additional stock, or prepare documents that provide for such purposes
- Monitor items with shelf life and notify appropriate personnel when material is close to its expiration date
- Identify inventory quantity or unit of measure discrepancies and notify supervisors
- Requisition safety equipment, tools, consumable and tool repair items
- Be able to completely rebuild all tools including but not limited to the following: pneumatic, mechanical and hand tools.
- Meet all Journeyman Inventory Associate 1 requirements and
TOOLROOM
- Administer the calibration program
- Participate in physical inventory counts
- Repair tools including but not limited to pneumatic, mechanical and hand tools.
Have a good working knowledge of 2 sections of the below departments’ requirements and with supervision, must be able to:
TOOLROOM
- Have an understanding of the general use of all tools
- Identify wear and defects of all tools
- Accurately and efficiently issue tools through computer system and knowledge of software to enable research, receipt, transfer, condition coding, etc. of all tools
- Inspect/test all tools incoming and outgoing and ensure they’re in good working condition prior to being stored or issued
- Have knowledge of maintenance requirements for all tools i.e., lubrication, cleaning, etc.
- Perform minor repairs i.e., air hoses, burning hoses, weld lead, etc.
- Store over- flow of items in proper location
- Identify all materials
- Accurately and efficiently issue or transfer material, products, parts and supplies to customers based on information from incoming requisitions (inventory issue chits)
- Maintain stock levels by replenishing bins from the reserve locations or by notifying supervisor of low stock
- Receive and inspect to conformity inventory delivered
- Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors
- Be certified to operate both fork lift, sit down and stand up
- Properly store items in an organized and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms or other areas
- Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Read and comprehend tool manuals
- Keep an orderly and clean shop
- Must be able to ensure that job site is left in a safe and clean condition prior to departure
- Must have the knowledge of the various types of metals
- Must have the ability to plan, organize and prioritize well
- Must be able to perform job safely
- Must know what personal protective equipment (PPE) to use and when
- Must have basic knowledge of math
- Must be able to read and write effectively in English, speak with clarity and listen actively.
- Must be able to work well with others.
