Mechanical Engineer Principal - NAWCAD-WOLF

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Mechanical Engineer Principal, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of NAWCAD-WOLF. You will play a crucial role in installing C5ISR systems that meet stringent operational and installation standards aboard US Naval vessels.
Lead, manage, and support engineering direction and guidance for design, development, integration and interface design analysis, installation, integration, fielding, field analysis, operation, maintenance, and testing of systems.
Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to drive system design and integration decisions that ensure interoperability and mission readiness for C5ISR systems.
Drive system-level outcomes by planning and executing rigorous systems testing, analyzing results, and resolving integration challenges in complex operational environments.
Utilize expert ability to read, interpret, and understand blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, and Ship Installation Drawings (SID) to ensure compliant installation and interface alignment.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Mechanical Engineer Principal must have:
Education: Master's degree in an Engineering discipline.
Experience: 8 years of related engineering experience. Of the minimum 8 years of experience required, at least 5 of those years must involve design, implementation, integration, systems testing, and interoperability studies related to C5ISR systems. At least 3 years of experience in reading, interpreting, and understanding blueprints, drawings, schematics, and Ship Installation Drawings (SID).
Technical skills: Demonstrated expertise in system design, development, integration, interface design analysis, installation, fielding, field analysis, operation, maintenance, and testing of systems; advanced proficiency in interpreting engineering documentation including SIDs.
PMP-certification preferred
Security clearance level: Must have ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance; able to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Role requirements: On-site presence at California, Maryland, with occasional travel and collaboration across geographically dispersed teams.

The likely salary range for this position is $97,968 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
