Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. As an Advanced Test Engineer at GDMS, you will have a have a hands-on opportunity to contribute to the development, testing, and operation of cutting-edge subsea technology.

Key Responsibilities:
- Make safety the #1 priority in the office, on the shop floor, at the dock, and offshore.
- Perform offshore testing of AUV systems to support engineering development, acceptance testing, and customer operations.
- Troubleshoot AUV issues and collaborate with other engineering groups to quickly resolve problems.
- Detailed record keeping and reporting of daily offshore activities.
- Oversee and maintain a fleet of asset AUV systems as well as the GDMS research vessel the R/V Resolution.
- Lead customer training courses on the operation and maintenance of AUV systems.
What you bring to the table:
- Strong technical skills in software, electronics, and mechanical troubleshooting, as well as a knack for hands-on repair and maintenance.
- Ability to quickly learn new software (AUV operations suite, sonar tools, etc.)
- Data processing and analysis skills
- Strong communication and technical report writing
- Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time (most travel assignments range between 1-3 weeks in length)
- Able to pass the requirements for a US Coast Guard physical examination CG-719K. _cert_faq.pdf
- Able to obtain a Massachusetts 1B Hoisting Engineer's License within the first 6 months of employment.
- Able to carry substantial weight, support extended work hours, and work in a wide range of weather conditions.
Workplace Options:
- This position is 95% on-site with an option to work from home on some days.
- While on-site, you will be a part of the Quincy, Massachusetts
