Position Description
Duration of this assignment is approximately 9-12 Months.
- The Field Technician Mechanic at the designated site is required to interface with the client, other GDLS employees at the location, and reports to the assigned Supervisor.
- Provides technical and maintenance troubleshooting and repair for the Abrams family of vehicles’ Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and Shop Repairable Units (SRUs), capable of providing informal instruction to team and customer.
- Develops solutions to problems of unusual complexity, which require a high degree of individual ingenuity, creativity, and innovativeness.
- Notifies Management of problems within technical areas as required, to include generating Field Problem Reports (FPRs) for processing.
- Daily interactions with Polish Land Forces leadership, maintenance personnel, and tank crews.
- Performs other duties, as required.
Position Requirements
- Experienced maintenance mechanic (3 years), familiar with the maintenance tasks, diagnosing, troubleshooting and servicing of variations of the Abrams Tanks (M1A1 SA, M1A2 SEP V2 and V3) vehicles. M1A2-SEP V3 experience is most relevant and preferred.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Be able to work autonomously with Polish Land Forces personnel.
- Must be able to meet and maintain all deployment requirements, to include a Passport
- Ability to communicate effectively with strong interpersonal skills.
- Able to gain access to military installations and travel throughout Europe.
- Willing to work effectively in a team-oriented structure to include field, office, and shop environments both on and off military installations.
- Must meet ASR guidelines for Abrams Driver’s Station entry, as described in EHSI E09.
- Able to obtain a valid State Driver’s License and be able to obtain a tank driver’s license.
- Capable of obtaining a security clearance, if necessary.
- Required to work at various heights, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, able to climb, able to work in enclosed spaces, often in awkward positions, extreme temperatures, and other adverse weather conditions;
