What are the responsibilities and job description for the Planner - Production Control position at General Dynamics Electric Boat?
Overview
Production Control position in support of various programs including Virginia, CLB and Delivered Ship availability's. The successful candidate will be required to perform cross discipline Production Control functions which include, but are not limited to, Work Order management, software and hardware expediting in support of Work Order schedules, change processing, and work completion close-out. In order to perform these functions, the successful candidate will be required to interface with Operations, Engineering, Design, Material Systems, Configuration Management, Quality and other support organizations at various levels of management. Successful candidate will be expected to be aware of and in compliance with those attributes of Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Process Improvement as they apply to their position.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in a Trade, Shipyard, Military or Planning/Production Control role
- Proficiency in reading blueprints
- 2nd shift position
Preferred:
- OWL experience
- Working knowledge of ARTEMIS, MRPII, ERS, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Power Point
- Technical schooling or job experience in one of the following disciplines: Electrical, Mechanical, Piping, Sheetmetal/HVAC, Shipwrights and Structural
- Prior operations shipyard or submarine experience
- Previous experience in Production Control Planning
