CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR
Starting Pay: $55,000/year (Negotiable based on experience and qualifications) Bonuses
JOB DUTIES:
• Oversee the preparation and completion of bids and estimates for construction and design-build projects.
• Provide quantitative analysis of construction costs.
• Analyze bid success rates, competitive pricing, market trends, and project budget lifecycles.
• Work with the Purchasing Manager to procure construction trades within project budgets.
• Develop construction schedules, including cost-loaded schedules.
• Communicate with subcontractors and maintain relationships across various trades.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids for project compliance.
• Work with Project Managers to finalize project budgets.
• Review contract documents, specifications, and construction drawings.
• Support financial tracking and reporting throughout project development.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience estimating construction projects; public-sector project experience preferred.
• Design-build project experience preferred.
• Strong management, organizational, and time management skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Familiarity with contract specifications and construction drawings.
• Familiarity with government agency bid documents and procurement portals.
• Knowledge of construction contract terminology and documentation.
• Understanding of unit rates across construction trades.
• Knowledge of union and local construction material markets preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Experience with SharePoint, Procore, and Primavera P6 preferred.
• Excellent communication, writing, and financial tracking skills.
• Ability to work on-site.
