Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Installer/Carpenter to support our installation team. This role involves assisting lead installers with the installation of various building components such as windows, doors, awnings, siding, railing, and decking. The ideal candidate will have some carpentry experience or trade school certification, along with a strong work ethic and customer service skills. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on skills in the construction and remodeling industry.
Duties
- Assist lead installers in the installation of windows, doors, awnings, siding, railing, and decking.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during installation tasks.
- Climb ladders and work at various heights to complete projects efficiently.
- Support the team in measuring, cutting, and fitting materials according to project specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency on job sites.
- Communicate professionally with customers to ensure satisfaction and address any questions or concerns.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries during installations.
- The Assistant Installer/Carpenter reports directly to the Lead Installer assigned to the job and the Owner/Manager of General Building Supply.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Preferably possess trade school certification or have at least two years of carpentry experience.
- Basic proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in carpentry and installation work.
- Ability to safely operate ladders and work at heights.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude.
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn new skills in a team environment.
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
