We have an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Electrical Design Engineer with our Electrical Engineering team located in San Diego, CA (Poway, CA).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under general supervision with limited review, this position supports the design and development of advanced electrical components, equipment and systems for unmanned air vehicles.
- Assignments are normally accompanied by general instructions and suggestions, outlining possible approaches, sources or information.
- Responsible for analog, digital and power conversion circuit design for military applications with appropriate analysis and/or CAD modeling.
- Responsible for control schemes, analog, digital, magnetic and electric machine design and/or specification, EMI design, thermal analysis and packaging.
- Documentation necessary to support production (i.e. test procedures, records, bill of materials, Interface Control Document, Source Control Documents, detailed design specifications and production support) and training.
- Required to provide field support as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, four or more years of experience with a masters degree, or two or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.

- Able to work extended hours as required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance is required.
