Position Description
This position works directly with sales, purchasing along with other departments, to oversee all cryogenic operations, including installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of cryogenic systems and equipment. This role leads a team of technicians while ensuring strict adherence to safety standards, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The position requires strong technical expertise in cryogenic systems (liquid oxygen, nitrogen, argon, CO₂) combined with leadership and process management capabilities. In addition, this position is responsible for training and equipping the cryogenic technician team to perform their duties and General Air facility maintenance.
Your Day-to-Day

- Manage and direct technically proficient work force
- Designs and develops gas and cryogenic delivery systems
- Be able to combine and interface multiple cryogenic equipment and gas delivery systems with customers’ applications
- Performs service calls, troubleshoot systems, perform preventative maintenance, repairs, verification, and installation of cryogenic and gas delivery systems
- Executes all service requests in a complete, timely manner, along with completing the form before leaving the customer location
- Supervise, train, and develop cryogenic technicians and service personnel
- Develops and helps to implement department activity Work Instructions
- Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed
- Co-conduct and lead LMA’s and L10 Team Meetings
- Support coordinate staffing, scheduling, and on-call rotations
- Communicates daily with the Cryogenic personnel regarding expectations, including job priorities, work quality, and regulation compliance
- Effectively communicates with all stakeholders to ensure the quality of final work
- Ensures all work meets quality and compliance standards
- Serve as the primary escalation point for customer technical issues
- Oversee maintenance and tracking of cryogenic equipment and service vehicles
- Manage inventory of parts, tools, and critical spares
- Ensure proper documentation of all service work, inspections, calibrations and repairs
- Participate in higher level facility operations
- Quality Assessment and Control for all installations
- Performs all duties in a safe manner, including appropriate use of all Personal Protective Equipment
- On-call duty
- Other duties as assigned
What You Bring to the Team
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field, preferred
- Mechanical/plumbing/electrical background
- 5–10 years of experience in cryogenic systems, industrial gas, or related field, preferred
- 2–5 years of leadership or supervisory experience, preferred
- Strong Customer Service attitude
- Clean MVR
- Applicable Code requirements – NFPA, IFC, ASME, DOT, IBC, NEC, FDA-HCI SOPs
- Local Code Amendments
- Cryogenic principles
- Cryogenic vessels
- Cryogenic vaporizer and delivery systems
- Cryogenic system design and build requirements.
- Environmental Monitoring theory, equipment and calibration
- Basic understanding of electricity and electrical components
- Strong understanding of industry gases and hazards associated
- Possesses effective management characteristics and skills
- Work independently
- Communicates well, both written and verbally, with all appropriate people
- Work in all types of weather
- Prioritize and complete tasks
- Read prints and schematics, and the ability to create same
- Communicate effectively between technical and non-technical persons
- Ability to work in industrial environments, including exposure to extreme cold and outdoor conditions
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and pushing and pulling up to 100 lbs.
- Willingness to travel between locations and respond to emergency service calls

Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
