This Industrial Engineer III works on-site, in Eagle, WI, and reports to the Manager of Operations Engineering. The Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining all supplier packaging and material presentation to the factory. This requires collaboration with engineering, quality, supply chain, logistics, and manufacturing.

- Lead and implement objectives to include continuous improvement initiatives to achieve customer satisfaction and fulfillment needs
- Lead and ensure product, material and information streams flow and are synchronized to produce maximum efficiencies and lowest cost of operation
- Responsibility for area layouts, process definition, and equipment justification, selection, and implementation
- Lead and implement demand driven principles and strategies that support operational excellence and long-range plans. (Flexibility, Speed & Responsiveness)
- Lead and ensure ongoing success of process improvement initiatives by implementing policies, procedures, and process documentation
- Leader in creation of innovative ideas to improve business results
- Deploy standard Generac tools, methodologies, standards, practices, and processes
- Work closely with shop floor personnel to promote ongoing Continuous Improvement of manufacturing methods, systems, and controls
- Develop in collaboration with the inventory analyst, packaging models for all raw materials supporting the plan for every part (PFEP) and total cost of ownership (TCO) models.
- Travel to the supply base to understand inbound materials and needed packaging.
- Develop monitoring tools to ensure and communicate supplier adherence to the supplier packaging policy.
- Develops and executes test methods, capability studies, and protocols for packaging-related improvements. Creates or validates packaging-related SOPs and Work Instructions. Provides training for appropriate personnel performing packaging activities.
- Develop policies for the preservation of materials for service requirements.
- Collaborate with project management and supplier sourcing to ensure all new products sourced have the correct packaging specification.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology;
- 5 years related experience in the Engineering function within a similar working environment
- Knowledge of ERP systems / SAP Business Objects.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and statistical analysis software.
- Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD, Solid Works, and/or ProE)
- Ability to work creatively and analytically, both independently and in a collaborative, problem-solving environment.
- Teaching, training, coaching, or mentoring experience.
- Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of lean principles and process improvements
- Diverse skills and experience leading projects
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally to achieve desired results
- Experience operating in high mix, low volume and high volume, low mix production environments

- Position will require travel (10%).
