Who We Are

Gene Era Bio-Aid, Inc. is an American laboratory consumables manufacturer headquartered in Fremont, California. We produce high-performance Plastic Laboratory Consumables/ Nucleic Acid Extraction Kits, Functional Tips (mixing, concentration, purification) / Pathogen Detection Kits/ OEM & Contract Manufacturing — manufactured in the USA and shipped to research laboratories, biotech startups, CROs, and distributors across the country.

Aurulab™ is our end-user brand, serving scientists and lab managers directly with a focus on precision, speed, and workflow integration. Our platform, iLabCore™, is being built to combine consumables procurement with AI-powered protocol generation, grant proposal writing assistance, and a lab community network.

We are at an early and consequential stage. The decisions made in the next twelve months will shape the company for years. We are looking for someone who understands what that means — and who is energized by it, not unsettled by it.

The Role

What This Position Is — In Plain Language

The founder has a clear strategy and makes the key decisions.

What is missing is someone who ensures those decisions actually happen:

who tracks every open thread without being asked,

who follows up on every email that didn't get a reply,

who prepares the first draft of every document,

and who keeps operations moving forward while the founder focuses on

product development, partnerships, and investors.

If you have spent years in life science — in distribution, sales,

BD, or operations — and you know what it feels like when things fall

through the cracks because no one was watching,

this role exists to prevent exactly that.

This is a part-time contract position (approximately 20 hours per week) with a clear path to full-time as the company grows. You will work directly with the founder and have broad visibility into every aspect of the business.

What You Will DoDaily

•    Monitor and triage all incoming business emails; draft responses for founder review, or reply directly within agreed scope

•    Maintain a live action tracker covering all open items: distributor follow-ups, sample shipments, attorney tasks, domain and trademark filings, patent status

•    Prepare a brief daily priorities note (three items maximum) so the founder begins each day knowing exactly what requires attention

Weekly

•    Follow up with distributors and mini-dealers who have not responded to outreach; log all contact attempts and outcomes in CRM

•    Coordinate sample pack preparation and shipment: label, pack, arrange courier, confirm delivery, send follow-up note to recipient

•    Support Field Associate recruitment: post listings, screen applications, schedule initial calls

•    Prepare a one-page weekly progress summary covering: distributor pipeline, Field Associate pipeline, product and patent status, upcoming deadlines

As Needed

•    Register conference attendance (SLAS, ASHG, Pittcon, AACC); book travel and accommodation; track exhibitor deadlines and material submission dates

•    Coordinate with patent attorneys and trademark counsel: transmit documents, track filing status, maintain a legal deadline calendar

•    Conduct targeted research on specific topics (distributor backgrounds, conference attendee lists, competitor product updates) and deliver a concise written summary — not a data dump

•    Assist with investor-facing materials: formatting, proofreading, sourcing supporting data

•    Manage routine vendor relationships: printing suppliers, courier accounts, office supply procurement

What We Are Looking For

The One Quality That Matters Most

You follow through. Every time. Without being reminded.

If you send an email on Monday and receive no reply by Thursday,

you send a follow-up on Friday — and you log both attempts.

This is not a skill that can be trained in a month. It is a habit.

We need someone who already has it.

Experience

•    Eight or more years of professional experience, ideally in life science, laboratory products, scientific distribution, biotech, pharmaceutical, or a closely related field

•    Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects with different stakeholders and timelines, without losing track of any of them

•    Prior experience in a business development, sales support, account management, or operations coordination role is strongly preferred

•    Familiarity with laboratory consumables, scientific instruments, or life science supply chains is a meaningful advantage — though not required if you learn quickly and ask good questions

Skills

•    Bilingual: professional-level written and spoken English and Mandarin Chinese — both are required, not optional

•    Clear and concise written English: you can write a professional email without it requiring three rounds of review

•    Proficient in standard tools: Gmail or Outlook, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive), a CRM (HubSpot or similar)

•    Organized by habit: you maintain your own tracking systems, not only the ones you are formally asked to maintain

Character

•    Comfortable operating with significant autonomy — you do not need daily direction to know what to prioritize

•    Exercise judgment: you know the difference between a decision you should make independently and one that requires the founder, and you act accordingly

•    Direct and factual in communication — we do not need enthusiasm, we need accurate information delivered clearly and on time

•    Energized by being genuinely useful, rather than by titles or organizational hierarchy

The Ideal Background

A Profile That Would Fit Well

You spent fifteen to twenty-five years in life science —

perhaps in regional sales for a major supplier, in business development

at a CRO, or managing distributor relationships for a laboratory

equipment company. You have recently retired or transitioned

out of a full-time role, and you are looking for something meaningful

to do with twenty hours a week — something that keeps you connected

to an industry you know well, and where your experience

matters every single day.

You are not looking for a title.

You are looking for a place where knowing how distributors think,

how a PI makes a purchasing decision, or how to read a COA

is genuinely valuable in every conversation.

If that description sounds like you, we would like to talk.

We are also open to candidates who do not fit this description precisely. What matters is the combination of relevant experience, bilingual fluency, and the follow-through habit described above.

What We Offer

•    Part-time contract engagement: approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility on scheduling

•    Compensation: $35 to $55 per hour depending on experience and background

•    Location: Bay Area preferred (Fremont / South Bay / Peninsula); hybrid — some in-person at our Fremont facility, otherwise remote

•    Direct access to the founder and full visibility into company strategy, operations, and growth trajectory

•    A company at an early and consequential stage — what you do in the first six months will have a lasting impact on how this business develops

•    A clear path to a full-time role for the right person as the business grows

This Is Probably Not the Right Fit If —

•    You need structured daily direction to know what to work on

•    You prefer to focus on one narrow function rather than moving across different types of work each week

•    You are looking for a large team, formal HR processes, and defined career ladders

•    Your English or Mandarin Chinese is conversational rather than professionally fluent

How to Apply

One Specific Ask

Please do not send a generic cover letter.

Instead, send us two things:

1. A brief note of 200 to 300 words describing one situation in your career

where you had to follow up persistently on something important before it

was resolved. What was the situation, what did you do, and what was the outcome?

2. Your resume or a concise summary of your relevant experience.

Applications that do not include the written note will not be reviewed.

This is not intended to make the process difficult.

It is to find people who read carefully and communicate directly.

Both matter a great deal in this role.

Send your application to: careers@aurulab.com
