We are looking for a commercial electrician who is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems within commercial buildings, including offices, retail spaces, and industrial facilities, by reading blueprints, adhering to electrical codes, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring proper functionality of all electrical components; requiring a strong understanding of electrical theory, wiring practices, and safety procedures.
Responsibilities:
*Install new electrical systems in commercial buildings and industrial facilities according to blueprints and electrical codes.
*Run conduit, wire electrical circuits, and install fixtures, devices, outlets, and power panels.
*Inspect electrical systems to identify potential issues and perform repairs.
*Diagnose electrical problems using testing equipment, such as multimeters and voltage testers.
*Interpret PLC ladder logic programs.
*Repair or replace faulty electrical components, including transformers, generators and control panels.
*Identify and address electrical safety hazards.
*Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged wiring, breakers, and relays.
*Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components.
*Maintain detailed documentation of electrical systems, including wiring diagrams and as-built drawings.
*Adhere to all local electrical codes and safety regulations.
*Complete necessary paperwork and reports regarding project details and work performed.
Requirements:
*Electrician with a minimum of five years experience in commercial and insutrial facilities.
*Troubleshooting experience in industrial automation including PLC Logic; 480-volt motor controls; and hazardous area code knowledge.
*Thorough understanding of electrical theory, including voltage, amperage, and power calculations.
*Strong mechanical and blueprint reading skills.
*Follow local, state, and national electric codes.
*Expertise in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and wiring diagrams.
*Previous experience in an industrial environment strongly preferred.
*Proficiency with electrical tools and equipment, such as wire strippers, crimpers, benders, and voltage testers.
*Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in various weather conditions.
*Physical stamina to lift and carry heavy electrical equipment.
*Strong problem solving and anlaytical skills.
*Excellent communication and team work abilities to collaborate with other trades people.
*Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
*No criminal back ground, must be eligible for TWIC card application.
*Must submit to DOT drug testing on a random basis or as directed by client's requirements
