Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Biomedical and Equipment Inventory Technician to support the Medical Research Command. This role is critical in maintaining the biosafety infrastructure and equipment inventory necessary for medical research. You will manage a wide range of research and medical equipment, ensuring it meets all safety standards and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Inspection: Perform Level II scheduled maintenance (calibrations, minor repairs, and parts replacement) and electrical safety inspections on medical/research equipment.
- Inventory Management: Utilize the Medical database to track equipment, monitor warranties and log maintenance history.
- Logistics Support: Support the inspection and acceptance of new equipment, including technical reviews of purchasing packages and inspecting shipments for damage.
- Accountability: Facilitate equipment tagging, identify unlocatable items, and coordinate disposition services.
- Training: Provide operational training to personnel when new equipment models are received.
Qualifications
- Required Certification: Must possess one of the following:
- Military Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) Training Certificate.
- Medical Equipment Manufacturer’s Training Course Certificate.
- Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) certificate.
- Experience: Previous experience interfacing with the military medical research enterprise is required.
- Health Requirements: Must be able to pass annual occupational health screenings, including TB and animal-associated disease screenings.
