What will I do as a Program Coordinator with Genacross?

  • Manage the operations and programming at the residential treatment program in a team approach.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and management skills with a focus on milieu programming, staff development, and support to those vital employees delivering care to persons with disabilities, behavioral issues, and mental health conditions.
  • Know and organize programming around interventions that support a caring Trauma Informed milieu environment.
  • Organize and implement a trauma-informed care program following the SAMHSA domains and principles, which includes staff training, interventions, procedures, and activities that teach and encourage a positive culture within the residential treatment program.
  • Ensure compliance with all OAC rules and accreditation standards.
  • Assist in budget development, as well as monitor and adjust expenditures monthly as necessary.
  • Manage multiple projects and tasks within defined timeframes within budgeted resources.
  • In collaboration with the administrative office, effectively train, assign, direct, counsel, incentivize, discipline, and evaluate performance of all direct care staff at the treatment program and do so while ensuring compliance with Ohio and Federal employment law.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet client demand and optimize staffing levels to drive residential program growth.
  • Manage room assignments in accordance with resident needs and update program room information as soon as residents enter the program or are moved.
  • Provide effective stewardship with all company assets, including, but not limited to facilities, equipment, and vehicles. Ensure maintenance records are maintained, inventories are updated on all major assets and personal resident property on an ongoing basis.
  • Supervise or facilitate group processes as QMHS staff member in day treatment, when necessary along with clinical supervisors.
  • Embrace and display the Genacross Family and Youth Services' values and philosophies of a person-centered approach; while instilling and ensuring its application with all staff.
  • Collaborate with other administrative staff to ensure all quarterly evaluations of each resident are completed and accurate and ensure programming supports positive skill training to enhance emotional and social growth, and resiliency in each resident in care.
  • Encourage programming that includes community service, employment, and off-campus activities while taking into account resident safety and resident capabilities.
  • Control access to the facility and residents to protect residents. Ensure visitation policies and procedures are followed. Ensure supervision of residents is adequate at all times on and off grounds.
  • Cooperate and effectively advocate for persons served with county representatives, GALs, CASAs, Probation officers, SSAs, medical staff, psychiatrists, parents, caseworkers, and other stakeholders.
  • Schedule all professional visits for each resident at your assigned facility in cooperation with therapists and/or other personnel to ensure team approach. Follow visitation process for all family visits.
  • Ensure medications are administered accurately, review counts, and ensure packaging is accurate and provided timely for med passers. Review MARs for accuracy.
  • Abide by and enforce all agency safety policies, Department of Labor (DOL) regulations, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, Corporate Compliance (OIP) policies and Code of Ethics. Employ safeguards as directed by Safety committee, HIPAA laws, and Genacross Family and Youth Services Compliance Officer and Executive Director.
  • Attend and successfully complete all necessary orientation and training functions, while participating in ongoing trainings, researched seminars, and committees/affiliations to stay abreast of new trends and methods for enhancing services for persons served through Administrative Support.
  • The Program Coordinator assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Family and Youth Operations or the Executive Director.

Program Coordinator Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years-experience in residential treatment environment; supervisory experience.
  • Master's Degree preferred; bachelor's degree required.
  • Knowledge of ODJFS rules related to the operation of a residential treatment facility program.
  • Possess outstanding written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in data input into the computer system, including electronic health record, internet email, and Microsoft office programs.
  • Obtain and maintain certification in CPR, First Aid, AED, PCI, and have a valid driver's license with driving record acceptable to Genacross Family and Youth Services insurance company.
