Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients from arraignment through verdict in both felony and misdemeanor jury trials.
- Draft and argue motions; conduct plea negotiations; and advocate at hearings and sentencing.
- Develop and execute strategic defense plans across a diverse range of criminal matters.
- Provide clear, compassionate guidance to clients navigating high-stakes legal challenges.
- Collaborate with paralegals and legal support staff to deliver exceptional service from intake through resolution.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Iowa (or ability to obtain promptly).
- 5 years of criminal defense experience, including jury trials through verdict.
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills with a polished courtroom presence.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage cases independently.
- A professional, client-centered approach with a commitment to teamwork and ethics.
