Gen Re currently offers an excellent opportunity for an Underwriter Associate to work in our Atlanta office for the Latin America region. This is a hybrid role.
Role Description
Gen Re provides Underwriter Associates with a high level of authority, productivity and empowerment early in their career.All work is completed within teams; working effectively in a team environment is paramount. Successful candidates will possess a positive attitude, ability to lead, technical aptitude, diverse interpersonal skills and are self-motivated.
As an Underwriter Associate, this position offers a continuing variety of tasks. Underwriters work with our clients (i.e. insurance companies) in assessing individual risk and related volatility, by utilizing data research and rating models. Underwriters negotiate the transfer of risk, pricing, and terms & conditions directly with the client. Underwriters are provided with the opportunity to travel and meet face-to-face with clients.
On the marketing or sales side, Underwriters strive to build lasting relationships with their clients. Marketing efforts include a variety of touch points, including client entertainment, industry events, meetings/presentations, and written communication.

Role Qualifications and Experience
- Bilingual in Spanish and English; must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong client/marketing presentation
- Strong organizational ability and attention to detail
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities
- Prior intern or work-related industry experience
- Solid software skills
- Strong team player, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various internal business units
- Strong critical thinking skills and intellectual curiosity
- Marketing and travel required: 30-50%
- College degree
Salary Range
63,000.00 - 84,000.00 USDThe annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the US and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.
