Mission Systems Technical Instructor

JOB SUMMARY:

Contractor personnel shall provide operations assistance to MTCCS-JBLM, WA and Gemini Tech Services by serving as a Virtual Battle Space 3 (VBS3) training integrator and operator supporting the U.S. Army client’s readiness and mission. This full-time position involves coordination of Games for Training resources, including personnel, equipment, and facilities, while ensuring the MTC meets customer training objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

• Provides individual operator training for Soldiers on Army Fielded Mission Command Information Systems and other computer software and hardware (e.g. constructive simulations).
• Conducts training classes ranging from 1-5 days per training week on an 8-hour-per-day basis.
• Participates in New Equipment Fielding and Training.
• Utilizes prescribed lesson plans developed by the institutional Army, provided by the system program manager, TRADOC or created locally.
• Modifies POIs as needed when new software is fielded and to meet the training needs of the resident unit commanders.
• Manages student attendance statistics, learning progress, and coordinates for course completion certificates.
• Solicits student feedback, conducts periodic review of course content, and modifies training scenarios, databases, and learning products to meet unit leader objectives and maintain pace with changes to Army training, doctrine, and policy.
• Maintain classroom facilities and provide tier 1 technical support to computers, tactical boxes, and network media. Reconfigure and re-establish classrooms as needed. Most classrooms consist of a simple closed network.
• When necessary, provides multi-functional instructor and technical support to the Mission Command team, a separate contract staff element providing planning drills and integrated command post exercise collective training to units.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES):

Understanding of MC. 2 years of instructor experience, 2 years of experience with 1 or more MCIS. HS diploma, Advanced Leaders Course (DTT)

• 6 years’ experience with military training, training support, and operations at Battalion or higher.2 years of instructor experience, 2 years of experience with 1 or more MCIS
• Possess Security Plus Certification
• Experience in operations and training at Battalion or higher-level operations.
• Familiar with digitally integrated Command Post Operations.
• Familiar with Army Mission Command Systems, e.g. JBC-P, CPCE, MMC, AFATDS.
• Knowledge of Mission Command, Military Decision-Making Process, and other operational planning functions.
• Excellent organizational, research, writing, and communication skills.
• Must be proficient in the following Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Position requires close customer contact and the ability to work independently and creatively.
• Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
• Possess and maintain a Secret Clearance.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Possess the Additional Skill Identifier “H” Instructor Certificate preferred.
• High School diploma.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution preferred.
• Completed the Officer Basic Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Battle Staff Course, Intermediate Level Education or equivalent level military schooling.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, as well as standing for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds when needed.
• Perform work in buildings and outdoor environments.
• Outdoor environments may involve inclement weather conditions, carrying equipment over uneven terrain, and maneuvering equipment in tight spaces.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be proficient in the following computer applications: Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint, Visio and Outlook.
• Experience utilizing the Maven Smart System (MSS) is preferred. MSS is an AI-driven approach to targeting and logistics, MSS offers unprecedented efficiency, flexibility, and operational capability.
• Knowledge of military rank structure, protocol, and the organization of military units.

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

· Active U.S. DoD Secret (S) security clearance.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:

Employment Type: Full Time hourly Service Contract Act (SCA) position

Pay Rate: $33.84

Health & Welfare: In addition, $4.93 per hour worked (up to 40 per week) toward Insurance Benefits

Holiday Pay, Paid Time Off (PTO) and Sick Leave Pay applies to this position.

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday at 8 hour days (schedule set by Site Program Manager).
