Job Overview:
A small, established manufacturing company is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer for an production-focused role. This position requires close collaboration with engineers, operations teams, vendors, and shop employees to ensure timely material deliveries and support smooth production processes. You will also interact with customers and upper management, helping drive cost savings, efficiency, and innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct extensive research to identify cost-effective products, materials, and sourcing solutions.
- Stay up to date with current manufacturing trends.
- Coordinate with procurement for the purchase of materials and supplies.
- Oversee project progression through Asana.
- Draft, review, and maintain contracts and accurate records.
- Analyze and solve problems using strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Design systems to identify, purchase, maintain and analyze usage rates of shop equipment.
- Use Microsoft suite and computer programs proficiently for documentation and reporting.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Run work order performance reports, labor reports, and material reports to keep track of jobs.
- Manage inventory and issue materials for shop floor. Create shop orders.
- Conduct FATs and other inspections of the equipment and incoming materials.
- Experience in project management is highly desirable.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or closely related field, a master's degree is preferred.
- 10 years' experience in shop experience and project engineering or a similar role.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Must have had a position on a shop floor that welds, polishes, machines, and assembles capital powder equipment.
- Knowledge with CNC equipment and programming, manual machining equipment, welding equipment, fabrication equipment, water jet, cranes, etc.
- Held a supervisory roll. Hiring, terminating, disciplining employees.
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or authorized to work in the U.S. Must reside within the New Jersey area or within commuting distance.

This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, on-site 7-4:30
Pay: $105,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
