Position Summary
The Senior Project Manager/Estimator – Industrial Plumbing is responsible for leading large-scale industrial plumbing projects from concept through completion, as well as managing estimating activities to support project acquisition. Based in Charlotte, NC, this role oversees project planning, design, execution, and closeout while ensuring compliance with quality, budget, and safety standards. The Senior Project Manager/Estimator serves as the primary client contact, provides leadership to project teams, and collaborates with vendors, subcontractors, and engineers to deliver successful outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Project Management
- Lead industrial plumbing projects, including new installations, retrofits, and upgrades, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations; identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Oversee daily operations, subcontractor performance, and quality of work.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure safety compliance.
- Act as primary client liaison, providing updates, managing scope changes, and maintaining strong relationships.
Financial & Contract Oversight
- Develop and manage project budgets, approve invoices, and oversee contracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
- Monitor financial performance, ensuring profitability and timely delivery.
Estimating
- Review project documents, drawings, and bid specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals.
- Perform take-offs, solicit vendor and supplier pricing, and prepare comprehensive bid packages.
- Develop detailed scope letters and coordinate with customers on clarifications.
Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor, train, and evaluate project staff, promoting teamwork, accountability, and professional development.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work culture.
Business Development
- Partner with the Charlotte business development team to identify opportunities, support proposal preparation, and attend client/networking events.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business.
- Provide market insights, competitor analysis, and client feedback to inform growth strategies.
