A Little About Us — Gem Vision

Gem Vision is a vibrant rural optometric clinic dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable eye care for the whole family with sensitivity, respect, and integrity.

As our clinic continues to grow, we are looking for an Optometric Technician who will play a key role in delivering excellent patient care while helping maintain an efficient, positive clinic environment. You would be an integral part of our team and expected to represent our clinic with professionalism, compassion, and outstanding customer service.

What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for someone who is fun to work with, eager to learn, and motivated to grow with our team. This is primarily an Optometric Technician position, and previous experience in an optometric, medical, or healthcare office setting is strongly preferred. Prior optometric technician experience is highly valued, but we are also willing to train the right individual who is adaptable, motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced patient care environment.

We value individuals who can confidently help maintain patient flow, multitask efficiently, and adapt to the unexpected needs of medical eye care. Our ideal candidate is able to maintain a positive attitude under stressful situations, stay flexible with emergency eye care visits and complex medical cases, and help keep the daily schedule running smoothly while continuing to provide excellent patient care.

You might be a good fit if you:

  • Believe the phrase “it’s not my job” is NOT a good excuse
  • Have a patient-first attitude and strong work ethic
  • Are a learning-based individual who enjoys growing professionally
  • Make attention to detail a priority
  • Can follow direction while also taking initiative
  • Handle varied personalities and temperaments well
  • Take ownership and accountability for your attitude and actions
  • Look for what needs to be done instead of waiting to be told
  • Can remain calm, professional, and positive during busy or stressful situations
  • Enjoy working as part of a collaborative and supportive team
  • Are capable of having fun!

You would also be a great fit if you have:

  • Previous optometric technician or healthcare experience (highly preferred)
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • A high level of professionalism
  • Strong customer service skills
  • The ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
