Responsibilities
As an OTR CDL-A Driver / Owner Operator, you will:
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles on long-haul OTR routes
- Transport freight primarily between Idaho, the Midwest, and the Northeast
- Maintain compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety regulations
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Accurately complete all required electronic logs (ELDs), trip paperwork, and delivery documentation
- Communicate consistently with dispatch regarding loads, delays, or issues
- Ensure on-time pickup and delivery performance
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned equipment
- Represent the company professionally with customers, shippers, and receivers
- Follow all safety procedures to protect freight, equipment, and public safety
Qualifications
Required:
- Valid Class A CDL license
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable OTR driving experience
- Clean MVR and strong safety record
- Ability to run extended OTR routes (regional flexibility required)
- Familiarity with ELD systems and DOT compliance requirements
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred:
- Reefer experience
- Experience handling multi-state long-haul freight lanes
- Owner-operator experience (for independent contractors)
- Strong knowledge of securement and load safety practices
- No recent preventable accidents or major violations
