The Licensed Electrician utilizes customer service training to educate and assist customers in choosing services, products and finance options.Essential Job Duties:Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problemConnect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other componentsInspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codesAdvise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of systemMaintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulationsPlan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codesDirect and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixturesPrepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codesPrice jobs and calculate time to perform workComplete necessary paperwork for work performedCalculate the cost of service for the customer and collect paymentSupervisory Responsibilities:The Licensed Electrician will be required to train and work one-on-one with Electrical apprentices.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
