Title: Seasonal Park Technician (not to exceed 8 months)
Department: Parks and Recreation
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Salary: Salary at $14.27/hour
CLOSING DATE: Open until filled
Position is anticipated to begin working March 2026, approximately 32 hours/week.

SUMMARY
To perform the day to day maintenance and operations of the Gem County Sports Complex, Courthouse and
Annexes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs general park and ground maintenance at 43-acre Sports Complex and surrounding grounds and
walking trail including mowing, trimming, spraying, and weeding
- Performs minor equipment maintenance
- Performs general landscape and cleanup duties, including trash and debris removal
- Maintains and cleans public restroom facilities
- Performs site maintenance including painting and light maintenance repairs
- Performs janitorial and grounds maintenance at Court House and other County buildings.
- Other duties as assigned or needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
- Grounds maintenance skills, including but not limited to, mowing, weeding, pruning, irrigation, and turf
fertilization;
- Custodial skills including, but not limited to, cleaning restrooms, floors, windows and fixtures;
- Operation and maintenance of irrigation systems;
- Grounds keeping equipment maintenance skills;
- Regulations and policies regarding safe work practices relating to the use of mowing equipment, power tools,
and grounds keeping equipment.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to operate power equipment, including but not limited to, ride-on mowing equipment and tractors,
trimmers, and related equipment;
- Operate hand tools;
- Operate a motor vehicle;
- Work independently and exercise initiative, with general guidance and supervision;
- Follow verbal and written instructions;
- Maintain a positive attitude of ownership in performance of work assignments;
- Customer service oriented.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Possession of a valid Idaho driver’s license.
- Subject to pre-employment drug and background checks.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, and crawl in performance of maintenance duties.
- Ability to work in a variety of extreme weather conditions.
