Job Summary
The Electro-Mechanical Technician will be able to maintain and repair equipment related to the operation of a gelatine manufacturing facility. This individual is required to reduce downtime, respond to equipment failures and be able to conduct preventive maintenance for operations to continue over a 24 hour time period. Support the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and FSSC 22000 management systems and the Quality, Environmental, and Food Safety Policy as appropriate in the function.
Essential Functions

Perform work tasks as directed by the General Maintenance Supervisor

Maintenance and repair of equipment related to the operation of a gelatine manufacturing facility including mechanical, plumbing, pipefitting, welding, rigging, and machining

Advanced Electronic/Instrumentation Troubleshooting/Repair.

Maintain, troubleshoot and repair Process Logic Control (PLC) Systems

Follow company policies and procedures while maintaining equipment

Follow safety policies and procedures in the plant.

Maintain a clean maintenance shop by keeping good sanitation, housekeeping, and GMP standards.

Ammonia refrigeration troubleshooting/repair.

Utility troubleshooting/repair (ie. Boilers).

Perform all tasks that can be completed by a Mechanic
This position will work daytime hours Monday through Friday, with some on-call work as necessary on nights, weekends, and holidays
Qualifications:Minimum Education:

Technical degree or equivalent experience.

Successfully pass both Mechanical and Electrical Aptitude qualification test with a 80% or higher
Minimum Work Experience:
-
Experience in a batch or continuous process food or chemical production environment is preferred.

Experience with PLC control systems is a plus.
