CNC Machinist III
Shift: 1st shift 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Salary: $30.00 to $36.00
The CNC Machinist III / Set Up Programmer role is a senior-level responsible for the setup, programming, and operation of complex 5-axis and 3-axis CNC milling machines. This position requires advanced technical expertise in machining tight-tolerance components, interpreting engineering drawings, and optimizing manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong troubleshooting abilities, precision measurement skills, and experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturing environments.

The salary range for this position is $30.00-$36.00. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.

Principal Accountabilities
- Set up and operate 5th-axis CNC milling machines; perform setup and operation of 3-axis milling machines as required.
- Interpret work orders, flow sheets, engineering drawings, and blueprints to determine manufacturing sequence, dimensions, tolerances, and inspection requirements.
- Upload, download, edit, and optimize CNC programs at the machine.
- Load and verify correct tooling and fixtures for each job.
- Manufacture and modify fixtures as required to support production.
- Perform in-process inspections using manual measuring equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges) and make necessary offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Maintain dimensional integrity of tight-tolerance, complex components.
- Submit first article and final inspections to Quality Assurance, including dimensions that cannot be manually verified.
- Pull and verify raw materials from staging areas to ensure accuracy against WOPAC/work orders.
- Accurately log labor time and production data in the ERP system.
- Maintain machine cleanliness and an organized, safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform routine machine maintenance as required.
Education & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with 5th-axis CNC machining.
- Experience reading blueprints and editing/writing CNC programs.
- Aerospace or automotive manufacturing experience preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems for data entry and time tracking.
- Experience with Mazatrol, Mastercam, or similar CAM software preferred.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T principles.
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic math proficiency: trigonometry knowledge preferred.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
