Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
• Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other coatings using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and power tools for efficient coverage
• Read blueprints and schematics to accurately determine project scope, color schemes based on color theory principles, and specific finishing requirements
• Execute various types of painting projects including residential painting, commercial painting, construction painting, industrial painting, and restoration work
• Perform drywall finishing, trim carpentry, stucco application, masonry work, concrete finishing, and fixture installation as needed to prepare surfaces for painting
• Use construction estimating skills to assess project materials and time requirements while maintaining safety protocols on construction sites
• Maintain a clean work environment by properly handling hand tools and power tools, ensuring all equipment is used safely and stored correctly after use

Skills

• Extensive experience with construction site work including renovation projects and remodeling processes
• Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding schematics for precise project execution
• Strong knowledge of color theory to achieve desired aesthetic effects and client satisfaction
• Skilled in plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, masonry, stucco application, and restoration techniques
• Ability to operate hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers; power tools including airless sprayers; welding equipment; and masonry tools
• Basic math skills for measuring surfaces accurately and estimating material needs effectively
• Familiarity with industrial painting standards and fixture installation processes
• Handyman experience with maintenance tasks related to construction or renovation projects
• Knowledge of construction estimating to plan projects efficiently while managing resources effectively
