Gelato & Cioccolato is an authentic, artisan Italian gelato and pastry shop dedicated to bringing the finest traditional desserts, espresso, and pastries to our local communities in Fairfield County.

With established locations in Cos Cob (Greenwich) and The SoNo Collection (Norwalk), and an exciting new location opening soon in Stamford, we are expanding our team! We are looking for energetic, reliable, and passionate team members for both Front of House (Customer Service / Server) and Back of House (Gelato Making & Pastry Cook) positions.

Open Roles & Responsibilities1. Gelato Server & Counter Team Member (Front of House)

• Greet customers, provide warm Italian hospitality, and introduce our artisan flavors.
• Scoop gelato, prepare shakes, and serve Italian coffees and pastries.
• Operate the POS/cash register accurately.
• Assist with light inter-store deliveries or product transfers between our shop locations when scheduled.
• Keep the gelato counter, display cases, customer seating, and patio spotless and organized at all times.

2. Gelato Maker & Pastry Cook (Kitchen / Production)

• Prepare authentic Italian gelato batches, sorbets, and pastry specialties from scratch following traditional recipes.
• Handle fresh ingredients, fruit washing/peeling, and precision blending and churning.
• Maintain rigorous standards for consistency, flavor, texture, and visual presentation.
• Follow all Connecticut Department of Health and sanitation regulations for food storage and equipment cleaning.
• Package and prepare gelato pans and pastry boxes for inter-location transfers.
• Kitchen Handling: Safely handle, transport, and store production ingredients and supplies using provided kitchen equipment and wheeled carts (with team assistance available for bulk items).

What We Are Looking For

• Valid Driver’s License and Reliable Vehicle (Required): Must own a reliable car or SUV and be comfortable traveling between our locations (Cos Cob, Norwalk, and Stamford) and assisting with product transfers.
• Physical Comfort: Ability to stand during shifts and comfortably handle kitchen supplies and ingredient batches with the assistance of wheeled carts and kitchen tools.
• Location Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts across multiple locations (e.g., primarily scheduled in Cos Cob with occasional shifts in Stamford or Norwalk) is highly valued.
• Experience:
• For Servers: 1 year in food service, café, ice cream shop, or hospitality preferred.
• For Gelato/Pastry Cooks: 1–2 years of culinary, baking, or food preparation experience preferred (ServSafe certification is a plus).
• Work Ethic & Cleanliness: Strong commitment to hygiene, food safety, and maintaining clean, orderly workspaces.
• Positive Attitude: Team-oriented mindset and passion for artisanal quality food.
