Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, slicing, chopping, and measuring according to recipes and standards
- Assist in assembling meals and plating dishes with precision and attention to presentation
- Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, ovens, and fryers safely and effectively
- Follow food safety protocols to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of ingredients and tools
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning routines
- Support menu planning by preparing ingredients in advance for upcoming service periods
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth communication and timely meal production
Requirements
- Prior experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
- Proven food preparation and cooking experience within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knife skills, slicing techniques, and familiarity with food safety management practices
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production environments
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while adhering to portion control guidelines
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen team members
- Experience with meal preparation, catering services, or serving is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
