White's is an independently owned Ace store, run by the White family since 1977. In all three of our stores, we greet customers right away, ask what they're working on, and stay with them until they have a real answer.

What you'll do

You keep the store running, in the backroom and out front. Unload and put away freight, keep the backroom organized, and help customers load up at the drive-thru. You still wear the red vest: when a customer stops you, stop, ask what they're working on, and get them to the right teammate. [HR: add only confirmed duties such as grill assembly, propane or deliveries.]

Who this work suits

This work keeps you moving, some of it outdoors, and you'll work with customers as well as merchandise. We'll teach you our products and how to work safely. [HR: insert the actual lifting requirement; confirm whether forklift or driving is essential. Both require being 18.] You'll see customers every shift. If you'd rather work entirely behind the scenes, this role probably isn't the right match.

• Raises you can see coming. A pay review every year, based on customer service, operations and training goals posted in the breakroom.
• A team bonus twice a year. When your store hits its sales growth target and its goals, the whole team shares in it, up to two weeks' pay.
• Paid holidays. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. We also close at 5 p.m. on Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
• A real employee discount. 15% off regular-priced items, and cost plus 3% on anything $50 or more, for you and the family you live with.
• Retirement savings. A SIMPLE IRA with a company match of up to 3% of your pay once you qualify for the plan.

Pay reviews, bonus, paid holidays and benefits begin after your first 60 days.
