What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - Registered Nurse Program Integration Specialist - Trauma position at Geisinger?
The Registered Nurse Program Integration Specialist for Trauma serves in an expanded role to oversee trauma performance improvement data-base integration Supports the performance improvement process, research, and regulatory requirements. Performs duties to provide the highest level of trauma program operations throughout the continuum of trauma care supporting regulatory requirements, optimal trauma patient care, satisfaction, and outcome.
This role is full-time, 40 hours weekly; Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm.
A minimum of 3 years previous RN work experience is required; previous Trauma/Critical Care experience is strongly preferred.
Job Duties:
- Provides interpretation of the regulatory trauma standards for all disciplines that interface with trauma patients.
- Assists with development, reviews, and updates of the policies, and standards of care as appropriate to maintain optimal trauma patient care.
- Provides input into departmental staffing patterns and budgetary needs to assure adherence with the regulatory standards outlining appropriate staffing for safe trauma care.
- Monitors time lines for data submission to assure prompt reporting.
- Collaborates with in-hospital departments to supply data, refine requests, and interpret data.
- Completes data to maintain an acceptable accuracy.
- Supports an inter-rater reliability program for the registry.
- Collaborates in the process for inclusion of new databases to support the program.
- Provides interpretation and clarification of the medical record to the trauma registrars.
- Abstracts data from the medical record in accordance with the requirements of the Pennsylvania Outcome Performance Improvement Measurement SystemInterprets study requests and designs reports for the access of information from the computerized trauma database for physicians and others.
- Identifies educational needs of the trauma patient and care givers and collaborates with the outreach coordinator, leadership and educators.
