What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plumber Zone/TR position at Geisinger?
- Installs, maintains and repairs air, vacuum and piped gas lines and equipment including pumps, tanks and dryers.
- Installs, maintains and repairs domestic water piping and equipment including pumps, tanks, coils and water heaters.
- Installs, maintains and repairs steam piping and distribution equipment, including reducing station, valves, heaters and sterilizing equipment.
- Repairs a variety of mechanical, plumbing, electrical equipment and general building components.
- Installs, maintains and repairs sanitary drains, sewers and storm sewers, including holding tanks and sewage pumps.
- Fills out job completion forms and daily reports.
- Communicates, works with and assists other zone maintenance team members with their area of expertise as needed.
- Performs preventive maintenance and equipment inspections as assigned.

Geisinger is seeking a skilled Plumber Zone/TR to help maintain the essential systems that support patient care and daily operations. In this role, you’ll provide plumbing services and assist with mechanical, electrical, carpentry, and painting work related to maintenance, minor construction, and remodeling projects across the facility.
Hours for this position are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm including rotational weekends, holidays, and on-call.
You’ll perform routine equipment room checks, complete preventive maintenance, handle work requests, and respond to emergencies involving mechanical and electrical support systems. This is a hands‑on role for someone who takes pride in dependable workmanship and wants to make a real impact in a healthcare environment.
